Feast updates first!
I bought an ISBN and officially registered it, so it is locatable on all book-searching sites and will soon have its own page on Goodreads! If you haven’t heard of Goodreads, it’s like IMDb but for books.
I also took the irreversible plunge of sending it to a publisher I’ve had my eye on, so the manuscript is currently at the bottom of an email inbox somewhere very exciting in London waiting for its first rejection letter! Fingers crossed, thumb held
I’ve been spending five to eight hours a night on the Big Novel after work, and about as much on weekends. All of the editing I could possibly do is done, it’s polished and paced and gorgeous, there’s probably even a few commas in their rightful places. I have some reservations about the length of a couple of chapters, but the chapters themselves are finally all named!
Just another night or two of combing through and making sure scene changes are marked with a cute little divider, and it’ll be done. If you’re interested in getting an advanced reader copy, to give me some valuable insights and feedback, speak up and I’ll send it through at the same time I send out everyone else’s.
That leaves the burning question: what the hell will I write next?
I’m spoiled for choice there, at last count I have no less than seven projects at different stages of development — from little brain seed to half-completed — but perhaps I’ll do a separate post about that to give people the opportunity to help me decide.
There are two stories I’d love to get started on, but are both still far too emotionally raw, and will have to wait for future-Matt to be ready to explore them.
In the meantime, going to keep at this with a sense of urgency — like my own horrible mortality is breathing down the back of my neck.
Have a good weekend!
