August 2026 update

Quite a bit of news:

Very proud to share that my cat story, Psychostasia, was picked up by The Fifth Corner literary journal, shortlisted for their Dark Fiction prize, and published in their sophomore issue (available now in print, and a complimentary digital copy with membership), accompanied by some a beautiful watercolour depicting the story. It arrived over the weekend and couldn’t be more gorgeous.

Really feels different to see your work in print.

In similar news, The Shade Chronicles – who last year featured The Hill You Die On in their ninth episode of their third season – have selected not just my unpublished short Bowerbird Park but also Allure, previously published in Aphelion, in their December episode! A Matt Hampton double feature.

This also makes it my first reprint! To celebrate, I got a cute little Loch Ness monster tattoo:

I know, the story is set on the shore of Loch Awe, but that one doesn’t have a mascot. Close enough.

Going to spend the evening getting a synopsis together for the Massacre at Serenity Ridge to send when Quill and Crow Publishing open their submissions in October, then hit the gym. Going to Melbourne next month, Canada maybe February. Be safe out there.
